A Complete Success of the 2019 Annual Conference of GCI

2019年11月30至12月1日中国留德学者计算机学会2019年年会在德国汉堡 (Hamburg) 成功举办，本次年会以“Brain-inspired Artificial Intelligence”为主题，秉承“促进中德科技交流与创新”宗旨，深入探讨了人工智能和脑科学等交叉学科的应用潜能和发展趋势。广大留德专家学者、学生、企业界人士及各界朋友一百余人，汇聚一堂，围绕大会18个主题报告进行了深度讨论。本次年会得到了中国驻德国大使馆教育处，中关村德国创新中心，浙江清华长三角研究院，开元集团，CRB Robotics AG, CRB Antriebestechnik GmbH，MorningSun Technology, Frankfurt Energy Holding GmbH的大力支持。

November 30th and December 1st, 2019—The annual conference of GCI (Society of Chinese Computer Scientists in Germany/Gesellschaft Chinesischer Informatiker in Deutschland e.V.) was successfully held in Hamburg, Germany. With the theme of Brain-inspired Artificial Intelligence and the purpose of promoting scientific and technological exchanges and innovation between China and Germany, this conference discussed in depth the potential application and growing trend of interdisciplinary subjects like Artificial Intelligence and Brain science. More than 100 attendees, including experts, scholars, students, business people, and friends from various circles in Germany, gathered together and had an in-depth discussion on 18 keynotes speeches of the conference. This annual meeting was strongly supported by the Education Department of the Chinese Embassy in Germany, ZGC InnoHub in Germany, Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University in Zhejiang, Kaiyuan Group, CRB Robotics AG, CRB Antriebstechnik GmbH, MorningSun Technology and Frankfurt Energy Holding GmbH.

中国留德学者计算机学会主席李强博士致大会欢迎辞，介绍了学会过往工作和此次大会到会嘉宾，德国汉堡科学院院士汉堡大学张建伟教授作为此次大会嘉宾介绍了他与学会的渊源以及汉堡在中德科技交流上扮演了重要的角色，并预祝此次大会圆满成功。中关村驻德国中心荀菲主任介绍了中关村目前的投资政策和德国中心进展，并欢迎大家到中关村创业。

Dr. Qiang Li, Chairman of GCI, gave the opening speech and introduced the past efforts and guests of the conference. Professor Jianwei Zhang of Hamburg University, a member of Academy of Sciences in Hamburg, talked about his excellent connection with GCI and Hamburg as an essential role in the scientific and technological exchange between China and Germany. Also, he wished the conference a complete success. Ms. Fei Xun, CEO of ZGC InnHub, introduced Zhongguancun Science Parks and the ZGC Group in Beijing. She also pointed out the achievements of the innovation center in Heidelberg, and warmly welcomed everyone to start their business in Zhongguancun.

马格德堡大学AILab 的负责人Prof. Sebastian Stober介绍了神经科学对于深度学习可解释性的起到的启示作用，来自英国布里斯托大学机器人实验室的杨辰光教授分享了神经启发的控制动作设计和人类机器人之间的技能转化，马格德堡大学徐嘉华先生分享了非侵入式神经调节技术在中风康复中的应用和效果预测，马格德堡大学武政女士分享了视神经受损后大脑网络重组后的动态变化，来自罗斯托克大学的亓丰学先生分享了电磁脑刺激对于神经肌肉康复的进展。CRB Robotics AG的CEO蔡留照先生分享了他自身在德国创业十几年的经历，精彩不断。

Prof. Sebastian Stober, the head of AILab at the University of Magdeburg, introduced the implications of neuroscience for the interpretability of deep learning. Professor Chenguang Yang, who is from Bristol Robotics Laboratory, shared with the audience a design of neural-inspired control action and conversion of skills between human beings and robots. Mr. Jiahua Xu, who is from the University of Magdeburg, gave a speech on the application and prediction of non-invasive brain stimulation on stroke rehabilitation. Ms. Zheng Wu of the University of Magdeburg delivered a lecture on the dynamic change of reorganized brain networks after the optic nerve got damaged. Mr. Fengxue Qi, who is from the University of Rostock, made a report on the progress of neuromuscular rehabilitation under Transcranial Electrical and Magnetic Stimulation. Mr. Liuzhao Cai, CEO of CRB Robotics AG, talked about his over ten-years of entrepreneurial experience in Germany.

在会议的下半部分，勒费尔德大学机器学习组的负责人Prof. Barbara Hammer分享了非静态环境下的机器学习方法，黄惠燕女士和Jan Van Sas先生分享了智能教育的全球发展趋势和LEAP虚拟教师项目，来自T-system的王丹丹博士分享了T-system 目前在数据经济层面所做的工作，马格德堡大学明安涛先生分享了其开发的智能足部神经康复鞋垫。 

In the second half of the conference, Prof. Barbara Hammer, Head of Machine Learing Group of Bielefeld University, shared with attendees the machine learning methods in non-stationary environments. Ms. Huiyan Huang and Mr. Jan Van Sas gave a presentation on the global trend of AI education and a project called LEAP Virtual Teacher. Dr. Dandan Wang spoke on the current work done by T-Systems in terms of the data economy, and Mr. Antao Ming, who is from the University of Magdeburg, introduced a self-developed product of smart insole used for foot neurological rehabilitation.

12月1日上午，来自不莱梅大学的Felix Putze博士介绍了神经计算模型的适用性交互界面，来自于利希研究中心的毕文伟先生和陈骥先生分别介绍了基于FPGA硬件的肿瘤病变位置识别技术和基于机器学习的精神类疾病判定特征，来及荷兰奈梅亨马普所的杨金骉先生介绍了认知科学启发的文本分割技术。

On the morning of December 1st, Dr. Felix Putze, who is from the University of Bremen, introduced an adaptive user interface of the computational cognitive model. Mr. Wenwei Bi and Mr. Yi Chen, who are from the Jülich Research Center, gave a presentation respectively on two topics. One is the technology identifying the location of the tumor lesion based on FPGA hardware, and the other is identifying symptoms of mental disorders utilizing machine learning. Mr. Jinbiao Yang, who is from Max-Planck Institute in Nijmegen (the Netherland), introduced a cognitive-inspired text segmentation model.

会议后半部分，汉堡大学张建伟教授介绍了目前多模态学习在机器人控制上的应用，内容丰富精彩，引起现场观众的共鸣，来自哈尔滨工程大学的黄海教授介绍了用于抓取海洋生物的水下机器人，来自康斯坦茨马普所的李亮博士介绍了如何通过机器鱼来研究鱼群的集群效应。浙江清华长三角研究院柏林中心代表华嘉宇博士介绍了研究院驻德国柏林中心并邀请大家参与海外学子浙江行活动。最后来自Frankfurt Energy Holding GmbH公司CEO冯建民先生分享了创业十五年来的亲身经验，深入浅出的介绍了德国创业环境和创业中需要注意的各种问题。

In the second half of the conference, Professor Jianwei Zhang of the University of Hamburg introduced the current application of cross-modal learning in robot control. It was richly enjoyable in content where the audience found their connections. Professor Huang Hai of Harbin Engineering University introduced the underwater robot used for capturing marine organisms. Dr. Liang Li of Max-Planck-Institute in Konstanz talked about his study on the cluster effect of fish stocks through learning the robotic fish. Representing Berlin Station of Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University (in Zhengjiang), Dr.Jiayu Hua gave an introduction to the Berlin Station (in Germany) and encouraged overseas scholars and students to participate in a well-known event of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship in Zhejiang. At last, Mr. Jianmin Feng, CEO of Frankfurt Energy Holding GmbH, shared his fifteen-year of entrepreneurial experience and explained in a simply way the German entrepreneurial environment and various issues to which people need to pay attention.

在所有参会者的热情参与中，2019年中国留德学者计算机学会年会完满结束，报告主体涉及多个学科，从脑科学到人工智能到机器人，内容丰富，主题精彩，赢得了参会者的一致好评，中国留德学者计算机学会将继续努力为留德华人打造平台，做好服务，为中德科技交流创新贡献力量。

Among the great enthusiasm of all attendees, the 2019 annual conference of GCI had a successful conclusion. During the meeting, various subjects of reports covered brain science, artificial intelligence, robotics, et cetera. With its abundant fantastic topics, the conference won high acclaim from the participants. GCI will continue to contribute to building a platform for Chinese scholars and students in Germany and serving Sino-German science and technology exchange and innovation.
